A very special Virgin Media Business taxi was driven into the River Thames this week. The specially adapted, branded taxi shocked onlookers in Richmond Upon Thames as it was driven into the River.
It was intended to show that while Virgin’s services cannot make you walk on water, it is with great technology that barriers which seem blocked can be crossed.
Mike Smith, Director, SMB at Virgin Media Business, said: “Small and medium-sized firms should be the fuel of our economy powered by simple, flexible technology, but we feel that industry and the Government need to look at ways it can provide more support and direct assistance to this group which is UK plc’s driving force.”
A SME cab service, is also being launched by Virgin Media Business, which will provide free taxi rides to business entrepreneurs across London, Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield.
Unlike regular taxi’s, the SMEcabs will have built in technology inside to help their passengers polish up their digital skills during the journey.
There is also the opportunity to record video clips of their thoughts, on the highs and lows, of life as a small business.
The SMEcab service will be available all this week until Friday (26).
